In 1992, the Calgary Stampeders won the Grey Cup! It was the first time in 20 years that the team had won! The 1992 team set the standard that has made the Stampeders the most successful team in the CFL since that win. Practice, planning, and execution were the mandate and many of the players have gone on to great things in life using those same skills. I was fortunate to be taken #1 in the draft that year and earned a job protecting CFL super star Doug Flutie. The lessons I learned that year are part of who I am today and I pass that on to people at Big Fish Staffing each day!
This past weekend, the Stampeder Football Club celebrated the ‘92 win with the LEGACY WEEKEND. 36 players and coaches gathered for an event filled weekend that culminated with a half time presentation. It was like a trip back in time. So many stories were remembered and friendships rekindled. I know I speak for the entire team when I say THANK YOU to Mike Franco and the Stampeders, Mark Nichols at the DT Hilton Garden Inn and Village Brewery and Jeff McWhinney the Hall of Fame keeper of the CUP who was amazing.
Big Fish Staffing also hosted a Grey Cup party with over 100 clients and friends with the highlight being community leader and 38-year season ticket holder Ron Melchior being named “Honorary Keeper of the Cup”
