Oh Canada, BBQ and Helping One Another

Mike Rutherford

In conjunction with Canada’s 150th birthday, the Canadian Red Cross is inviting all Canadians to continue that great summer BBQ tradition while giving back to this diverse country. Big Fish Staffing decided to have a BBQ in which we believe is appropriate considering the recent tragic fires in B.C.

This past Thursday, the Big Fish Staffing team had the great privilege of hosting 150 guests for a BBQ lunch at the Big Fish plus-15 area in support of the Canadian Red Cross. Thanks to a multitude of sponsors, the Big Fish Team had an amazing silent auction with lots of door prizes! In addition, the Calgary Stampeder’s set up a booth and gave away a Stampeder’s Alex Singletons jersey! We are so proud to announce we raised $3000 in support of the Canadian Red Cross!

It was a truly fun filled event and would not have been possible without the organizational abilities of Donna Kuhnen alongside her Big Fish Helpers; Bonnie Mo and Bruce Covernton. Thank you to the following volunteers: Cee-Jay Jackson, Rhonda Galleli, Edwin Li, Zekai Jia. And John Guo. Finally, we would like to thank our following sponsors: Spolumbos, Calgary Stampeders, Tammy Truman insurance, Trojan Safety, Metro News, Cowboy’s Music Festival, Analog Coffee, Apex Massage, Strength Shaman and Surrideo Orthodontics.

In conclusion, Big Fish would like to thank everyone who attended and purchased a prize, you made the day incredibly great. We hope you keep Big Fish Staffing in mind for any of your temporary or full-time staffing needs!
